The junction of the ampulla and the ductus deferens creates the 2 centimeter ejaculatory duct along with the union of the seminal vesicle. The posterior surface of the prostate permits an entry way for the ejaculatory duct, permitting passage through the gland. There are in fact two ejaculatory ducts following the same path, in combination are referred to as one duct. Both the ducts are receptive to the additives and secretions necessary for the completion of semen creation. These ducts in turn eject these additives along with the sperm mixture into the prostatic urethra. Within the urethra, the secretions are added to more secretions derived from the prostate gland. The urethra serves both the urinary system and the male reproductive system and permits the passage of urine and semen. It also signifies the termination of the tubular ducts for both of these primary systems.
