The perineum refers to a designated section of the pelvic region. This section is located in the pelvic area and is determined by the anus, as well as the external genitalia. It can be found by its distinctive diamond like resemblance when looking downward on the male genitalia. The coccyx and the symphisis pubis create the borders of the perineum. Segregated into a triangular distribution, this area is known as the urogenital triangle and encompasses the muscular regions of the pelvic outlet. The rear section is divided into the anal triangle. The perineum of the male body serves as an anchoring point for the penis and the scrotum.
