Aeroseb-D

Aeroseb-D review

Aeroseb-D, available by the brand names Decadron, Decaject, Dexamethasone Intensol, Dexpak and Solurex, is a corticosteroid. This medication is a synthetic version of hormones, which occur naturally in the human body. Doctors prescribe it to replace hormones when the body doesn’t make enough. Lack of the hormone can cause inflammation, which is relived by Aeroseb-D. Aeroseb-D is also used to treat arthritis and other disorders that include skin, eye, kidney, blood, and intestinal disorders, especially colitis. It is helpful in controlling severe allergic reactions like asthma, atopic dermatitis, allergic rhinitis, and serum sickness. It can be used to treat flare-ups of multiple sclerosis or cerebral edema. It can even be used to treat some cancers, especially the pain associated with them.

Aeroseb-D comes in a tablet and liquid form. It is extremely important that you follow the directions exactly as they are written. If there’s anything you don’t understand, be sure to ask your doctor, nurse or pharmacist, because dosage and timetable are very precisely calibrated for this medication. Above all, do not stop taking Aeroseb-D abruptly or without consulting your doctor. Most steroids and other hormone-based medications are prescribed in such a way that the dosage and frequency gradually taper off, and an abrupt stop could have serious side effects. The patient might experience loss of appetite or upset stomach, vomiting, drowsiness, confusion, headache, fever, joint and muscle pain, peeling skin, or sudden weight loss.

Even used properly, Aeroseb-D may cause serious side effects. These most commonly include upset stomach, vomiting, headache, dizziness, insomnia, restlessness, depression or anxiety, acne, increased hair growth, bruising easily, and irregular periods. Other side effects that are more serious include skin rash, swelling of the face or ankles, problems seeing, colds or infections that do not seem to go away, weakness in the muscles, or black or tarry stool. If any of this second set of side effects occurs, call your doctor immediately.

It is extremely important to keep any appointments with your doctor or any appointments you have for lab work. Your doctor may want you to take certain tests in order to gauge how you are responding to the Aeroseb-D. If your condition worsens, or your side effects are especially bad, this may be a sign that your dosage needs to be adjusted. One thing to be very cautious about is your exposure to other illnesses. Aeroseb-D lowers the human immune system and may make you more susceptible to infections or other illnesses. You must report any sign of infection, such as fever, sore throat, or muscle aches, to your doctor.

Aeroseb-D can be very effective in children as well as adults. However, it should be used with great caution with pregnant women. The effects on a developing fetus are unknown, but side effects such as cleft palate have been observed in laboratory animals given a course of Aeroseb-D. Similarly, Aeroseb-D could appear in breast milk and cause growth problems for a nursing baby, so nursing mothers should make sure to speak to their doctors prior to taking this medication.
