Cefprozilo review

Cefprozilo is a prescribed medication used in treating ear infections, nose infection, skin infections, bronchitis and many other bacterial infections. This medication is not intended for the treatment of viral infections, colds or the flu.

Cefprozilo is intended for patients with bacterial infections and is classified as a cephalosporin antibiotic. Cefprozilo is distributed under the brand name Cefzil while in Europe it bears the name Procef.

The dosage for Cefprozilo depends on the prescription and is based on the level of infection and how the patient reacts to the treatment. Cefprozilo is taken orally after a meal to avoid an upset stomach. Continue taking the medication until the prescription is finished or as advised by the doctor. Avoid stopping the medicine earlier than prescribed even if there are no more symptoms because there is still a possibility that the bacteria will comeback. It is best to follow your doctor’s prescription to ensure that the infection is totally eliminated.

For a missed dose, take it immediately. However, if it is too near the time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Never take two doses close together.

Cefprozilo may cause side effects including diarrhea, nausea, upset stomach and loss of appetite. These side effects can be minimized by drinking milk or eating food when taking the medication.

Some patients may experience dizziness, headache, fever, muscle pain, fatigue, unusual taste in the mouth and even seizures. If these side effects occur, you must immediately seek medical attention.

Patients experiencing an overdose must be brought to a doctor or poison control facility immediately.

Before taking any medication, inform your doctor if you are suffering from any medical disorder, including kidney problems and stomach disorders. Inform your doctor if you have any allergies to antibiotics or other similar medicines. Inform your doctor of other medicines you are taking, including blood thinners and antibiotics.

Women who are using birth control pills should discuss with the doctor other methods of birth control because Cefprozilo interferes with the usefulness of birth control pills.

Diabetic patients must also inform the doctor prior to taking this medication because Cefprozilo can affect the results of a glucose test. Your doctor may suggest other methods of monitoring your glucose level.

Cefprozilo is a prescribed medication and should not be shared with other individuals even if they have similar infections. It should not be used at a later period even if the same symptoms occur.

Pregnant women should talk with their doctor about any risks involved with taking this medication. Breastfeeding mothers must also consult the doctor before taking this medication.

To supplement the effectiveness of the medication and avoid other infections, patients should maintain proper hygiene at all times. Wash hands thoroughly before touching the infected areas of the body.

Cefprozilo and other medicines should be stored in a safe place away from children’s reach.
