Chlolincocin review

Staphylococcus aureus has another great medicament to worry about - Chlolincocin. This antibiotic is one of the most effective without patients having to worry much about hypersensitivity reactions. They do have to learn more about proper use and observance of adverse effects.

Chlolincocin is the generic name of the lincosamide antibiotic. It is used for the treatment of infections caused by anaerobic bacteria as well as some protozoal diseases like malaria. Since it is highly effective against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus or MRSA infections, Chlolincocin is also indicated for the treatment of acne. The medicament also comes under the brand names Dalacin, Cleocin, Duac and Evoclin.

Chlolincocin can also treat infections of the respiratory tract, pelvis, abdomen and vagina, peritonitis and septicemia. The medicament is good for patients with known hypersensitivity reactions to penicillins. Bone and joint infections from Staphylococcus aureus can be treated as well. The medicament comes in capsule form, which should be taken orally. There are also lotions and gels to be applied topically for skin infections.

Various side effects have been associated with the use of the medicament. Examples of serious side effects are allergic reactions like face and lip swelling, breathing difficulty, hives and rash, bloody or watery stool, fever, flu-like symptoms, body aches, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, jaundice, scanty or absent urine and headache. Mild and moderate side effects include mild nausea, stomachache, vaginal pruritus or discharge, throat irritation and mild skin pruritus or rash. Patients should immediately stop taking the medicament if allergic reactions occur. For less serious reactions, they may continue consumption but everything should be reported to the doctor.

Patients with known hypersensitivity to Chlolincocin or lincomycin should not take the medicament. The medicament is also known to cause adverse reactions if it is taken together with erythromycin. People with a history of Crohns disease, asthma, eczema, allergies, colitis, intestinal disorder, kidney problem or liver disease should first consult their doctor to ensure safety. Chlolincocin is thought to have effects in-vitro so pregnant women, those trying to become pregnant as well as nursing mothers should seek consultation.

Chlolincocin has a bacteriostatic effect in which bacterial protein synthesis is interfered with through its binding action to bacterial ribosome particularly the 50S subunit. As the medicament binds to the subunit, bacterial growth and spread is inhibited. Chlolincocin is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract after which it will be delivered to various infection sites in the body.

20 patients suffering from Staphylococcus aureus skin infections were treated with 500 mg of Chlolincocin every 6 hours for 2 weeks. After the first week, 14 patients exhibited a lot of improvement and by the end of the second week, 19 patients had improved conditions. 8 patients were fully recovered. Only 3 of the patients showed mild allergic side effects such as skin pruritus and rash.

Chlolincocin is an over-the-counter or OTC medicament, which can be bought at any pharmacy or clinic. The tablets usually come in 250 or 500 mg. Consumers should check the expiration date, manufacturer as well as brand name to ensure authenticity. When buying generic brands, it is important to only look for certified medicament stores and online sites.

Chlolincocin overdose is also possible so patients should watch for signs and seek medical attention as soon as they notice symptoms. Take the missed dose as soon as one remembers but skip the missed dose if it is almost time to take the next. Be sure to store the medicament at room temperature free from direct sunlight and moisture. Follow the instructions given by the doctor, especially if the medicament is intended to be applied vaginally.
