Formistin review

Formistin is an effective antihistamine that treats the common symptoms of allergies that usually affect the eyes and nose. Aside from allergies, Formistin is also an effective treatment for hay pyrexia, urticaria, angioedema, and even Kimuras disease.

Before taking Formistin, talk to your doctor about any health conditions that could create an undesired reaction with the medication. First, your doctor must know whether you have an allergy to Formistin or any of its components. Next is your health. If you have had kidney failure or a liver disorder, your doctor may need to adjust the dosage or you may need to undergo special monitoring while taking this medication. Although Formistin has not been found to have any harmful effects to an unborn baby, your pregnancy must also be discussed. This is the same with mothers who are breastfeeding. Formistin can be excreted in the breast milk. Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding before you begin taking this medication. Special precautions need to also be taken for adults age 65 and above. As you age, your body's lower resistance may increase your risks to experience a harsher version of the side effects. The doctor will make the necessary dosage adjustments applicable to your case.

Once proper dosage is determined, follow it strictly to benefit from the healing effects of Formistin. Formistin is available in chewable, liquid suspension, and tablet form. It is taken orally. The chewables need to be chewed completely before swallowing. The liquid suspension need to be shaken thoroughly and measured in an accurate measuring spoon. Do not use a regular tablespoon, as a measuring spoon is far more accurate. Take the tablet with a glass of water and swallow the tablet whole. Crushing it will make its bitter taste even more challenging so it is better to swallow the tablet whole. Formistin can be taken on an empty stomach. Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, continue with your normal diet.

Follow the dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor. While taking Formistin, you may experience somnolence or dizziness. If symptoms become more serious or come with breathing difficulty and rashes, talk to your doctor immediately.

Be cautious when performing physically challenging activities while taking Formistin. Your abilities to operate a machine or drive may be affected by the somnolence caused by Formistin. It is best to avoid such activities for the duration of your treatment. Do not consume alcohol while taking Formistin as alcohol may increase the side effects the same way some medications do. Talk to your doctor about prescription and non-prescription medications you are taking prior to taking this medication to ensure your safety.

Formistin is best kept out of reach of young children. Store it away from heat or moisture. Do not share your prescription with others and use it only for the condition it was prescribed for. Other conditions will need a different diagnosis for an accurate prescription. Take your doctor's advice seriously. If you are not comfortable using Formistin, have yourself closely monitored by your doctor during treatment to check your progress.
