Pletaal

Pletaal review

Pletaal is used to treat the symptoms of intermittent claudication, which is basically leg pain caused by walking. It is distributed under the brand name Pletal by Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co.

Intermittent claudication is a condition caused by blood circulation disorders. Pletaal works by improving blood circulation, supplying blood to the legs, dilating the arteries, and decreasing the coagulation of platelets. Clinical studies have shown Pletaal's role in increasing fatality rate among patients with congestive heart failure. The same studies have shown that the medicament does not harm patients who do not have the disease.

Before taking Pletaal, make an appointment with your doctor to determine the precautionary measures you should take in using the medicament. A history of allergy to Pletaal or any of its components must be considered. If the allergy occurs while you are taking the medicament, report the case to your doctor immediately so they can treat the symptoms and prescribe a different medicament. The condition of your heart and liver must also be looked at. Patients who have heart and liver disorders usually require an adjusted dosage of Pletaal. Pregnant women, those planning to become pregnant, and those who are nursing a newborn must consult their doctor before taking this medicine. Using Pletaal alongside other medicines may cause damaging health effects. Discuss your intake of prescriptive and non-prescriptive medicines including vitamins before deciding to take the medicament. If your doctor sees any components that do not combine well, they will make the necessary adjustments to your prescription. Cigarette smokers are not advised to use Pletaal. Tobacco and other related products decrease the effectiveness of the medicament.

Pletaal is taken orally twice daily in pill form. It is taken at least 30 minutes before or two hours after breakfast and dinner. Pletaal can be taken on an empty stomach. An adjustment in your diet is not necessary unless your doctor says otherwise. However, you cannot drink grapefruit juice at any point while you are taking Pletaal.

Pletaal usually takes a while before you recognize a substantial effect. It sometimes takes as long as three months for a patient to see the benefits from it. Pletaal does not cure intermittent claudication, it only provides relief of its symptoms. Reduced leg pain can also be achieved with enough rest. For people who cannot afford to rest, Pletaal is the best answer.

Pletaal causes some side effects that are quite bearable. Dizziness, irregular heartbeat, diarrhoea, stomach troubles, abnormal stool, and flu-like symptoms are common. However, breathing difficulty, swelling in the hands, feet, ankles, and legs, and severe rashes are causes for alarm. Call your doctor immediately if you feel that your discomfort outweighs the benefits of Pletaal treatment. Always be on guard. Early detection of a problem helps greatly in repairing it.
