is an anti-helminitic medication. Medicines listed in this group are effective in battling worm manifestations. As such, Valbazen is a preventive medication against worms that grow and multiply inside your body, leading to other illnesses. It is mostly used in treating tapeworm
, threadworm, roundworm, whipworm, and hookworm infections.
Valbazen is available in tablet form. It is taken orally by mouth
usually with food at least twice a day. Conditions are different from patient to patient so you need to consult your doctor for your case. Through the consultation, whether you can use Valbazen as a treatment or not, you must openly discuss your medical history with your doctor. The important points that must not be left out include your allergy report; your past and present medical conditions (especially concerning your liver
functions); the current medicines you are taking; and, if you are a female, the possible occurrence of pregnancy during and after treatment. If you are positive to one or all factors, your doctor will adjust your dosage so that it will not counteract those of your conditions and create a harmful effect on your health.
Valbazen is not safe for pregnant women or those who are planning to become pregnant at least a month after undergoing the treatment. The compounds of the medication prove to be harmful to unborn babies. Nursing mothers are a different case. It is not yet proven whether the medication is excreted in the breast
milk or not and whether it causes harmful effects or not. To be on the safe side, make sure to tell your doctor if you are nursing a baby.
It is important to take Valbazen for the entire period of time that was prescribed by your doctor to make sure that the worms are stopped completely. Even if your symptoms for worm infection get better, remember not to stop using the medication unless your doctor tells you so. The worms might still be alive even when you feel your health is back to normal. Do not use higher doses of Valbazen. In the same way, it is unsafe to use the medicine beyond the prescribed period. In case you miss a dose, take it as soon as you realize that you missed it. If it is too near the next dosing time on your schedule, discard the missed dose and continue with the regular dose. Do not double up your dosage at any given time because it will lead to overdose. If you suspect that you have taken too much Valbazen, call your doctor immediately. There are no known symptoms of Valbazen overdose but it is bad for your health.
While under medication, stay away from people with contagious diseases such as flu, cough
, and colds. Valbazen lower your body’s ability to resist infections. You cannot use it as well to treat viral and bacterial infections
. Like most medications, Valbazen comes with side effects. The most common physical discomfort of Valbazen is dizziness
, which may worsen with the presence of alcohol and other medicines. Headache
, and stomach
pains are also normal. If those symptoms persist, worsen, or come with fever
, chills, sore throat, unusual easy bruising, and vision changes, make an appointment with your doctor immediately.
